Fred Sirieix,

Chairman of the Trustees

Fred Sirieix moved to the UK in the summer of 1992. He worked in senior front-of-house positions at landmark London restaurants, including Le Gavroche, Sartoria, Brasserie Roux and Galvin at Windows at the London Hilton, where he worked as General Manager until 2019. In the last decade, Sirieix has been a constant presence on our screens across a variety of channels – the hit show First Dates, Remarkable Places to Eat and Snackmasters on Channel 4; My Million Pound Menu and Ultimate Wedding Planner on BBC2; and Road Trip on ITV with friends Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’Acampo. He took part in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2023. He set up the the Right Course to open and transform prison canteens into professional restaurants run by inmates.

Ali Zaidi,

Trustee

Ali Zaidi is the Head of Litigation and Restructuring & Insolvency at Edwin Coe, and specialises in insolvency, reconstruction and fraud-related cases. His practice includes asset tracing abroad, pursuing and defending claims of misfeasance by directors, conducting and defending Insolvency Act examinations, advising on asset avoidance schemes, pursuing directors personally for fraud and deceit, and defending directors in disqualification proceedings.

Ali has worked on several high-profile Insolvency cases including a multi-million pound bankruptcy and corporate Ponzi frauds. He also has extensive experience of commercial litigation matters ranging from fraud investigations to partnership and shareholder disputes.

Beverley Campbell,

Trustee

Beverley is a qualified family law solicitor who works for the Family Rights Group where she advises families involved with children's services.

She also holds the position as their Family Participation Officer, advising senior management teams in local authorities across the country of the importance of working with those with lived experience to co-design, enhance and improve their provisions through their children’s services and in part, youth justice divisions. Beverley facilitates the work of lived experience experts consisting of both parents and kinship carers.

As part of her advisory role, she is the Advisor who exclusively provides support to prisoners who contact Family Rights Group for advice regarding their public and private law family issues which is one of the reasons that she became a Trustee of the Right Course. She has a longstanding understanding of the high levels of recidivism which occur when prisoners are released in the same, or worse conditions than when they began their custodial sentences.

She strongly feels that through the diligent and committed work of all at The Right Course, their learners have the opportunity to commit to a course where they are able not only to learn aspects of hospitality but also, with our support, find meaningful employment in the future.
Charlie McVeigh,

Trustee

Charlie has more than twenty years of experience building brands and businesses. He works closely with entrepreneurial companies on strategy, fund-raising and exit. Key current investments include Foodstuff, brewser, The Breakfast Club and Butchies Buttermilk Fried Chicken.
Francesco Messinas,

Trustee

Francesco Messinas is the company director of Café Amisha, a very successful & authentic Italian restaurant in SE1 London. He has been working in hospitality for the past 25 years. He has always been on the frontline to help the community in various ways. His motto is “ always give a reason for people to come back “
Michele Caggianese,

Trustee

Michele Caggianese has over 20 years’ experience managing some of London’s most notable restaurants, and a true passion for hospitality. During this time, he has accrued a wealth of expertise, and his love for the industry has only grown. Arriving in London from Italy, as a young man with few connections, Michele understands the feeling of being somewhat on the outside, looking in. He applied dedication and loyalty to any opportunity that he encountered, resulting in much success along the way.

It was during the earlier part of his career, when working for Galvin at Windows, that he met Fred Sirieix, the start of a long friendship, which lead to Michele’s involvement in The Right Course. Michele shares the same vision as the charity and believes that many of the individuals with whom the charity works have incredible untapped potential, despite the challenging circumstances in which they find themselves.

Through guiding and training numerous teams over the last two decades, Michele has already witnessed many junior staff members who started with very little experience, but who possessed a strong work ethic, and flourished within an environment with some structure and encouragement. Michele’s enthusiasm for the industry is contagious, and he continuously seeks opportunities to inspire others to pursue fulfilling careers within it. With the UK hospitality industry facing very complicated times, he sees the concept of The Right Course as one that is mutually beneficial.

Michele is delighted to be a trustee for a charity whose mission resonates so deeply with him, such is his belief in the transformative power of education and training via the hospitality sector. He hopes that his contribution to The Right Course continues to play a part in inspiring many individuals to embark on their own rewarding journey in hospitality.
